summary of the data

Survey on Time Management

This survey was made to know how busy the students in techniques and pre-university programs are. It was also designed to know how they divide their time between their activities, studies and social life.

Our survey was completed by 22 respondents; most of them were in a technique. We were surprised that the majority (27.3%) of them don’t have any job because of a lack of time. Half of the respondents spend 1-5 hours in their homework per week. The majority (68.2%) sleeps normally the recommended hours per night, which are 7 to 8 hours. 3/5 of our respondents takes coffee on a regular basis and 2/5 of them don’t take anything special beside water. In general, people spend between 30 and 60 minutes in a car or in public transportation per day. On their free times, we should say that people do a lot of different activity. In order of importance, they meet friends, watch TV, do sports and listen to music. And finally, 40% of the respondents spend 6-10 hours on the computer per week.

In general, we can say that our survey met pretty well our expectations. But we are aware that 22 respondents aren’t enough to represent efficiently the student society. Anyhow, we learned from the data that students in general don’t spend a lot of time for their homework and that they surprisingly don’t have a job because of a lack of time. Next time we will do a survey, we will let it longer online to make sure that more people fill it. That way, the answers will probably better represent the students in general.
