Survey on Health Habits

At first, when we created our survey, we wanted to know about people’s habits concerning their health. We wanted to know if people really cared about their health or if they didn’t really bother about it. In order to get some results, we created a few questions and today we received the results.

After two weeks on the internet, twenty people visited and answered our survey. Basically, the questions were quite simples. People were asked how many glasses of water they were dinking during a day, how many hours they were sleeping a day, etc… Concerning the results, we found out that nobody sleeps enough during the night knowing that teenagers need from nine to ten hours of sleep every night. We also found out that 40% of the respondents spend from thirty minutes to an hour to relax each day which is not enough.

We also found out that 90% of the respondents are not smoking cigarettes but 20% of the respondents do drugs from times to times. From what we have seen with the results, 50% of the respondents exercise only once or twice a week.

After seeing the results, we are satisfied with our survey. We are surprised to see that people don’t really care about their health at all. From what we have seen, people don’t seem to understand how important it is at our age to keep our body in a good shape in order to grow up with a healthy body. If we had to redo the survey, we wouldn’t change anything because we believe that the questions are simple but revealing in regard to people’s habits.

Analysis #2
The purpose of this survey was to evaluate the health habits of people and to determine if they are taking care of themselves. The main goal was to determine how much students are concerned about their physical well-being.

21 persons answered our survey The first part of our survey was about the importance of a good physical condition for teenagers. From the results, people seem to be in good physical condition, because 71.4% are spending more than two hours on physical activities a week. Students are practicing a lot of good cardio sports like hockey or jogging.

However, students are less concerned by their eating habits. 28.6% are not eating breakfast everyday, which is not good, considering the breakfast as the most important meal of the day. About 50% of the respondents eat fast food at least once a week and are not concerned about the Canadian Food Guide. At least 60% of students are not drinking the 2 liters of water that we are supposed to drink everyday to be in good health.

We were surprised to see that only few people are smoking. However, alcohol seems to be more popular because more than 70% of the respondents are drinking alcohol at least once a week.

The results of the survey in general are not very surprising. We expected people to be aware about their health. 85% of students consider themselves in good health but 25% are not satisfied about their physical look.

The survey is not very representative because only 21 persons answered the questions and some skipped a few questions. In a future survey we would try to get more answers. We still met our goals, beacause we have a good point of view about student from our school which is pretty representative of our age layer.
